Cameron’s government is acting like it has a huge majority, but the reality is his majority is only 12. This means we've got a really good chance to make sure this important change to the bill is approved.

We’ve built a special tool that makes emailing your MP super simple. Just click below and add your name, it's really that simple.

It’s always better to put things in your own words as MPs take more notice of constituents taking the time to write to them that way. We’ve included some tips below on what you might like to say:

  • Online voting is safe and secure. If we can bank online, files our tax returns online and order a driver's licence online, then we can safely allow trade union members to vote for industrial action online.
  • Active and effective trade unions defending and representing the interests of their members and other workers is a vital part of our democracy. Any attempt to hobble them weakens our democratic society and the rights to free association.
  • Unions have benefited everyone from helping secure maternity leave, unfair dismissal rights and paid holidays that we all enjoy. These rights could be under threat if unions are hobbled and weakened by the bill.
  • 6.4 million people in the UK are trade union members representing 25% of the entire UK workforce. The majority of union members are women and those from marginalised groups, often working in insecure jobs.
